At Nicholant Enterprises, our United States Military Veterans possess levels of training and expertise that are second to none. Training is critical to every successful mission. Most of our specialists have a minimum of four years of U.S. military training and experience. In addition, our security officers receive continuing dynamic education that focuses on being proactive in every client environment. This includes anticipating, avoiding and alleviating any threats.
Nicholant’s military veterans have a combination of skill sets that include security force development, first aid training, safety and human relations, risk management, emergency management, asset protection and executive protection & detail. We will work with each of our clients to deliver a custom-made security solution to meet their specific needs.
Sonja P. Nichols
President and CEO
Sonja Phillips Nichols, MBA, President and CEO of Nicholant Enterprises LLC, owns 100% of the company. Sonja, registered with the State of North Carolina as both an Unarmed and Armed Security Officer, will be responsible for the overall management of Nicholant. Sonja has served in several leadership roles on boards throughout Charlotte and is known as a strategic thinker with an ability to see ahead and communicate her vision to others. Sonja is an ASIS International Member in Good Standing.
Chief of Staff
Edward “Chris” Short, United States Army Colonel (Retired), is the Chief of Staff and will work to support the vision, mission and values of Nicholant Enterprises. Chris has a comprehensive background in international programs and policy implementation derived from conducting global operations in Europe, Asia, the Middle-East and Africa, as well as providing routine special operations program and policy advice to the Secretary of Defense
James Walker, United States Army Veteran, is in charge of Operations, including Training and Certifications. He will manage daily security operations and all training and registrations of our Contract Security Officers. James has served as Major of Operations for the Ohio State Highway Patrol; Director of Security for the Ohio Secretary of State; Director of Security for Nationwide Children’s Hospital; and most recently Assistant Vice President and Director of Corporate Security for Carolinas Healthcare System. James is an ASIS International Member in Good Standing.
Business Administration Volunteer Advisor
Steven Cole, U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) is the Business Administration Volunteer Advisor for Nicholant Enterprises. In this role he oversees business development, financial and contract management, marketing, sales, and corporate communications for the company. Prior to joining Nicholant, Lt. Col. Cole served for twenty years in the U.S. Army, the last seven years spent in various public relations roles for the Army in Washington D.C., Kabul, Afghanistan, and Los Angeles.
Business Development and Risk Management
Ron Roberson, Retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief Petty Officer, leads the Business Development and Risk Management efforts at Nicholant Enterprises. In this role he is responsible for identifying, managing, and developing ways to mitigate all contract risks. Master Chief Roberson brings a professional background including over twenty years of naval service and years spent working as a corporate compliance, analysis, and reporting professional.
Carrie Stuby - Volunteer Advisor
Recruitment and Staffing
Carrie Stubby, United States Army Veteran, will serve as our Recruitment and Staffing Manager, leading recruitment and talent acquisition. Carrie established a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program for the Virginia Employment Commission and ran several Veteran Re-Employment Service Programs. She worked as a Deputy Sheriff and is a Retired Alexandria, VA Police Officer. Carrie also managed the caseloads of several 9/11 terrorist inmates.
