Business Administration Volunteer Advisor
Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Steven Cole is the Business Administration Volunteer Advisor for Nicholant Enterprises. In this role he oversees business development, financial and contract management, marketing, sales, and corporate communications for the company. Additionally, he monitors operations as well as collecting and analyzing business data, marketing trends, and past performance to assist the CEO in analysis and decision making. Lt. Col. Cole brings a diverse leadership and communications strategy background gained from working in the military and in the corporate sector.
Prior to joining Nicholant, Lt. Col. Cole served for twenty years in the U.S. Army, the last seven years spent in various public relations roles for the Army in Washington D.C., Kabul, Afghanistan, and Los Angeles. His final role was the Army’s liaison to the film and television industry in Los Angeles where he managed the Army’s brand reputation and product placement in entertainment media projects. Prior to that assignment, Lt. Col. Cole worked as a communications consultant for Fleishman-Hillard’s Washington D.C. office. In Kabul, Afghanistan, he also served in media plans and media relations roles for the International Security Assistance Force staff, and as the public relations director for the Army’s ceremonial unit in Washington, D.C.
Before becoming an Army Public Affairs Officer, Lt. Col. Cole worked as an Assistant Professor of History at the United States Military Academy, West Point, served as an armor officer leading armor and mechanized units of more than 60 soldiers, and performed various staff functions as an operations officer, planner, and logistician.
Lt. Col. Cole earned a Bachelor of Science in U.S. History at the United States Military Academy, West Point, and a Master’s Degree in African History from the University of Maryland, College Park.
